Sorry dude.  Looks like your design might have been stolen.  A company advertising on FB is charging 130 USD for your design and has no mention of you in the description. They’re also selling knockoffs of official LEGO sets, so I wouldn’t put it past them to lift yours.

for those who have problems with the steering simply place the yellow gear forward rather than behind the mechanism !!

Very nice job are there specific pieces you need to create a F1 racer like specific panels or uprights. Either way great job.. Do you have other sets that you have MOCed up id be curious to see your work

I've built this great alternative model last year, and now I'm planning to show it on our local exhibition of LEGO TECHNIC models, with all credits to you.

I just built this moc and love it. Thank you for the clear building instructions.

Built this MOC a couple of days ago, and had to change two things:
    1) Use 4l black axle with a gray bush instead of a 3l axle with a stop in the front suspension, otherwise you won't have enough 3l's
    2) Don't add 2 white 2l round connectors when connecting the exhaust hoses, otherwise you'll need 11 of them, and 42039 only has 10.

    I really love this MOC.

If I have the original kit what's the easiest way to determine what 'extra' parts I need to purchase to build this??

Never done a MOC from here before.

Awesome MOC. Built and displayed it for a few months. Great job!!

Very beautiful design! I just finished building this MOC and I am very impressed with the building techniques!
You made it very difficult for me to choose which model to display haha, the original A or this one ;-)
  • 2 years, 11 months ago Dannyboy Level 2
Great Moc! Enjoyed building as others have said swap the bevel gear around for correct steering! Also, benefits from a few extra pieces in the mid section for strength. (not needed for display but if the kids want to drive it helps!)

Great MOC !! My son was very happy :)

Awesome MOC! I just finished this build using only parts from the original technic set. I had to modify some parts in the front axle, to save 2 of part number 6587 for later in the build. I love this and it added new life to this set. I am very impressed with the design of this MOC!

I spent the weekend building this some tricky moments but the end result is awesome thanks for sharing your design
  • 3 years, 6 months ago mistakecargo Level 6
It's way better than A model, which isn't a claim I've ever made. Wonderful job!!

Wow. Well done. Great work. Thank you for creating this, it is an amazing model.

I think you are missing couple of 18944 panels in the parts list (there are at least 5 of them visible in the picture)

Built this MOC yesterday, pretty well thought out design, especially for limiting yourself to 42039 parts only as others have said.

Only note to point out about the steering is to switch the 12 tooth beige bevel gear around when installing the steering. If you install it on the other side of the black "U" shaped bracket (87408)/4l axle piece the steering works the correct way =)

Great MOC though, very well done =)

First time making a MOC, and I love it, personally I think this model is better than the second option that is provided with the set. The only problem I came across was the fitting of the steering wheel, I don't know whether I'd mistakenly used some incorrect pieces beforehand but I didn't seem to have the beige coloured pins. I made a minor adjustment and found a solution. But like I said, love this model. Thanks.

Yes I had the same issue as you, was glad that someone else had the same issue and posted about it or I would have pulled it all apart to check I hadn't used them elsewhere by mistake.

I had a couple spare in by box of technic so just used those, but there are a couple of solutions with the 42039 parts only. You could use a 5l axle with a black connector either side for the mirrors to attach to for example.

I just finish building it. Love the panel work! Awesome job to create this and limit yourself to just the 42039 part!

Great MOC. There is a green plate from 42039 (the only set with it at the moment) and it is not listed in this MOC parts list. Something wrong with my calculation or something missing ?

    Extremely impressive!

I'm not one to comment on the internet much, but had to sign up and log-in just to praise the amazing work here. I completed this based on your instructions, and I think it's even more visually appealing than the A model - it really "looks" like an F1 car, the A model doesn't quite "look" like an LMP. I can't believe you were able to so thoroughly design this from only the original kit!

Just getting into schematics at this point: I swapped the green "V8 Power" nose panels with the white "Technic" engine cover panels, just to try play with the overall color scheme. I may try to post some pics later...

Great alternative build!!! My mate Jarno truly loves this. #:0)
  • 4 years, 5 months ago BungalowMatt Level 9
Thank you very much for this, it was my first go at a MOC. As I hadn't got enough of some of the connectors, I had great fun trying to find alternative ways whilst staying true to your plan. I guess that is what it is all about. Great stuff!
  • 4 years, 5 months ago Poenoe Level 4
Awesome MOC, better than B model for sure. Even better after I fixed steering.!!!
  • 4 years, 5 months ago msk6003 Level 11 MOC Designer
this model is the better then the offical lego B model.
only one problem, steering gaer direction is reversed.
