Mercury Atlas launch pad and tower (Saturn V scale)

The Mercury Atlas vehicle carried the first American - John Glenn - into orbit in 1962. This launch pad fits my 1:110 scale Mercury Atlas, which is the same as the official Lego Saturn V.  The set is designed from, and based on, old photographs of the Mercury Atlas launches in the 1960s.  The coupled launch clamps—which operate properly via a single lever in the back—fit perfectly into the access holes in the rocket and provide for wonderful play.  My 5-yr old son has a blast playing with the clamps and rocket! Other realistic moving parts include the crew access arm and the fuel arm.  The instruction booklet is about 45 pages.

Note 1: Bricksmith & LPub do not include the track-stacking pins (bb219). The build according to the photo requires 8 of those. This leads to a warning in the parts list but nevertheless the component is listed on Bricklink.
Note 2: In the photo, the girders are white because those are the only ones I had on hand.  Red girders are in the instructions and parts list.
