BuWizz powered Technic speed record breaker - over 40 km/h

I spent several weeks creating, improving and testing this Lego Technic speed record breaker car. The basic idea was to use 2 BuWizz units, 4 buggy motors and 4 Technic motorcycle wheels and to add only the minimal amount of components to create the lightest and fastest BuWizz powered Lego Technic car. It had to be solid enough to survive all the crashes during the tests and record breaking attempts. The aim was to go faster than 40 km/h.

I had several tests at various locations until I found a proper track and the final configuration of the car was created. During this time a lot of parts had to be replaced as the axles were bent after a couple of runs.

The car does not have a conventional steering to reduce weight. For the speed runs only small adjustments are needed, so the direction of the car is controlled by the speed difference of the wheels  - you need to use the 2 unit profile in the BuWizz app and assign the 2-2 motors to the 2 vertical sliders.

The 2 BuWizz units are missing from the part list, they can be purchased at https://buwizz.com/?ref=5

Please let me know the speed you manage to reach with this car if you build it.

cool. does the record still hold or has it been improved?  you should try it on a smoother surface like a parquet floor in a gymnasium!!
    love the video

Thanks! Didn't see anyone posting a faster BuWizz-powered vehicle but it can be improved for sure, this was recorded with BuWizz 1.0 and the new version has Ludicrous mode so it can be faster. Smooth surface would obviously help, I'd need a sports hall big enough for the acceleration :) Or maybe an oval should be fine as well..

Does the car turns on both side or just go on straight line ?

There are 2 control sliders for the 2-2 motors on each side of the car, so it has a tank-like steering.
