It's time we ran another competition! I want to run more competitions this year than I have been lately. To start with, we're having an Alternate Build competition, based on the Creator theme.
We will award prizes to two different MOC designers. Each prize will consist of the following four Creator 2018 sets:
I wanted to point out a new feature I've added, since it might not be so obvious. It is designed to provide more feedback to MOC designers, as well as help you keep track and build a sort of portfolio of other people's MOCs you have built.
I have made several enhancements and added new features related to managing your LEGO collection. These will help make Rebrickable the best LEGO collection management tool around :)
You can now optionally group the results of parts and sets listings by a choice of fields, and filter the list with multiple selections at the same time. The available fields will depend on the page you are on.
Time to see what happened in 2017 and play with some numbers!
The volume of traffic received in 2017 was fairly close to 2016, with a much smaller growth compared to previous years.
We will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the LEGO brick together with the 86th anniversary of the LEGO Brand. This year is bound to be the year the world's minifigure population will surpass the human population (7.5 billion). The year LEGO will introduce The Powerpuff Girls and Unikitty and reintroduce Jurassic World and Harry Potter. And we are getting the new Power Functions 2.0 and two new Train sets! Combined with Building Bigger Thinking and vintage Exclusive sets, it is going to be, without any doubt, a fantastic year to be a LEGO fan! So to whet your appetite, or to keep you updated, here is our (almost) up-to-date and revised preview of all the new 2018 LEGO sets.
MOCPlans.com was a site dedicated to selling Building Instructions for MOCs. An old idea but the first site I'm aware of to try and create a dedicated platform just for LEGO MOC instructions.
Madoca's Icarus Supercar is a 1:10 scale model of the McLaren P1. Madoca says it's heavily inspired by the McLaren, due to some small differences, but it looks damn close to me.
The latest LEGO Ideas set is the NASA Apollo Saturn V. By now, you've probably seen plenty of reviews from those lucky enough to get the set before it sold out. I'm happy to bring you Rebrickable's review of this amazing model.
In the last month or two I've added many new features and fixes. I'll just mention a few of the new features below.
You can now upload your own photos of MOCs you have built, or modded. This is a great way to show off what you've built, and provides some great feedback to the MOC designer.
Many of you have probably noticed the references to Pro Plans scattered here and there on the site over the last couple of months. Now that the v3 release has stabilised, I've now managed to find time to finish the Plan features.
